No. 058 Reading Time 4 minutes

We are deeply humbled and excited to share a recent milestone with you: receiving the Kohler Bold Design Award in the Material and Skill Adaptation.

Category for our project Tiny Farm Fort.

During the award ceremony, we were affectionately compared to "the Lord of the Rings franchise"—a nod to being the outlier, the unexpected winner among the other recipients.

Kohler Bold Design Award in the Material and Skill Adaptation

It was a reminder that our journey has always been different, and we’ve proudly embraced that difference.

But this isn’t just about us—it’s about all of us—a community bound by the vision of building a more beautiful, sustainable world.

While we’ve never worked for recognition, this award is a small step towards the future we all believe in.

A future where buildings breathe in harmony with nature, where we choose materials that are kind to the earth, and where people come together to create something meaningful and lasting.

This journey began not for recognition, but out of pure obsession.

We were driven by the love of creating, spreading awareness about alternative materials, and making something meaningful.

We lived in the forest for three years, pouring ourselves into the process.

This house became more than just a project;

It became a place where we could lose ourselves and find ourselves again.

Where we could slow down, live simply, and connect with the earth in a way that industrialized buildings often don’t allow.

It was built by every hand and heart that touched it.

Every volunteer, friend, and community member who came to help left a piece of themselves in the walls, the cob, and the soil.

Your energy, your dedication, and your love made this house possible, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

This recognition helps spread the message further, showing the world that there’s another way—a slower, more thoughtful, and more beautiful way of living and building.

So here’s to following your obsession, wherever it may take you. It will always lead you to the truth of what you’re meant to do.
